Point of View Glazing Ltd
Maintain your windows to give them a longer life
So, you’ve installed your new windows and your home not only looks even more bright and airy, it is much warmer and draught free. Whilst your windows may be all shiny and new now, the likelihood is that after a while they will begin to show some signs of age.
Whilst your double-glazed windows will have a 10-year guarantee, they should still be well maintained to ensure they continue in the best operating manner possible and working as well as the day they were installed.

In much the same way as your car will have its annual service, it is a good idea to have a maintenance package in place for your windows and doors. A maintenance package includes all of the checks that you need to make sure your windows and doors remain in good working order.
These checks include:
Making sure all furniture is in good working order
Ensuring all hinges are easy moving and grime free
Checking for signs of weatherproofing deterioration (in external perimeters as well as gaskets and seals)
Lock realignments
Things such as a misaligned lock could mean that your door is difficult to lock or things such as a grimy hinge could lead to a stiff window and therefore cause a problem later down the line if it gets jammed or incredibly difficult to open.
Therefore an annual maintained visit really does help! As well as any adjustments that need to be made, a maintenance visit will be able to identify any replacement parts that may be required (such as hinges, handles etc).
Whilst these are not included in the cost of the maintenance package, replacing them would certainly help to keep windows and doors in good working order.
For those who would like to discuss a maintenance package, we are able to provide an annual visit for £185 + VAT and would be more than happy to answer any questions that you may have.
